The Shihpoo is a cross between a Shih Tzu and a Toy or Miniature Poodle. Their coat can range from curly, wavy, to straight, depending on the traits inherited from their parent breeds. Shih-Poos are small to medium-sized dogs, and their size can vary depending on whether the Poodle parent is a Toy Poodle or a Miniature Poodle. Smaller Shih-Poos (8-12 pounds) often result from a Toy Poodle parent. Larger Shih-Poos (13-18 pounds) tend to have a Miniature Poodle parent.
